When the mind is filled with to do lists, tasks and stress “mental laundry” continues to pile up. It creates a tumbleweed effect and continues to grow. The more you think of the stress the more stress is created. Things get foggy, more difficult and irritable. It is important to take your mind off of life’s stresses or past situations and focus on the present. Slow down and breathe. Allow your body to get oxygenated and make the switch from the stress response by the sympathetic nervous system: fight or flight mode. To rest response by the parasympathetic nervous system: rest and digest mode. Where you can take your power back, your body can rejuvenate and restore balance to scattered energy. Release resistance and let go of what is no longer serving you or your energy field. Holding on to past trauma or situations causes pain and suffering, trapping it in the tissues and organs of the body. This is a conscious choice and you can choose to release it and let go of suffering in the present. Or you can choose to hold on and continue to feel the hurt of the past while attracting similar situations opening the same wound. Your thoughts are powerful and they create your reality.
A great time to meditate is first thing in the morning after waking up and before checking your cell phone. Instead of starting off from a space of fear/ anxiety you can prime your mind with what you would like out of your day. Being kind and loving to yourself and filling up your own cup from a space of love so you do not have to lean inappropriately on other things or people. Your beliefs create your reality. If you focus negatively, more negativity will come in the form of thoughts or situations making you feel negatively, attracting more of what matches that vibrational resonance. Where if you focus on positivity, you will create more positive thoughts and situations which make you feel more positive, attracting more of what matches that vibrational resonance. Meditating or quieting the mind for five minutes a day has been proven to provide serious benefits including:
Provide sense of peace, calm and balance
Reduces negative emotions
Increases self-awareness
Bring focus to the present
Gaining new perspective on stressful situations
Build skills to coop with future stresses
Close down your eyes, breathe deeply in through the nose and slowly out the mouth. Lengthen the spine, creating space between each vertebrae and continue to breathe deeply and completely. In through the nose for 4 seconds, pausing and exhaling for 8 seconds out the mouth. Placing one hand on the belly and the other on your chest, feel the body move like a wave. Feeling the belly rise, the chest rise, the belly fall and the chest fall. Be kind to yourself in this moment and feel a wave of relaxation wash over your body, feeling the release of tension from head to toe. Feel yourself letting go more and more with each breath, relaxing deeper and deeper with each exhale. Bring your awareness to your heart center, create an intent for yourself or state a wish or dream you would like to become reality. Knowing that we are all eternal creators and whatever we focus on, we have the power of manifesting. Let this intention go to the universe without dwelling on it, knowing it is already done and has been taken care of. As all time... past, present and future is happening right now.
Continuing to breathe slowly and completely witnessing and acknowledging any thoughts that come up and allowing them to fade away as if on a cloud. Breathe in fresh vital energy, visualizing it as crystal- like air and as you exhale feel a release of density and smoke as you release what you no longer need. Your body becomes lighter and lighter with each exhale. As your vibration rises it creates a bubble of peace and serenity encompassing you. Feel this bubble expand through the 4 corners of your room, expanding out past the city, expand through the country. Then finally embracing the world creating unity and wholeness. Breathe in deep and exhale fully, pull your energy bubble back in toward your body grounding your energy. With divine grace, mercy, love and compassion “the light in me acknowledges the light in you,” Namaste.
